KFC at Your Service

“We figured there’s enough population in that area to control the delivery and we wanted to see if we could make a run at this,” he said.

If the service in Tamuning does well, the range of delivery may expand further into Tumon and Upper Tumon. Delivery by moped may also become available from the Dededo KFC location and the island’s newest KFC in Yigo.

As one of the island’s major commercial districts, Tamuning sees a great deal of traffic during the midday lunch hour as the local workforce makes their way to the plethora of eateries in the village. In addition to the traffic, there’s another problem with driving to lunch: parking.

“Mopeds are easy to park,” Cruz said. “We can drive to you.”

The shiny, new mopeds are also a stylish way for KFC to make its presence known throughout the village — not to mention the smiles underneath the helmets of delivery drivers.

“Customers didn’t want their food being delivered in a Guam Bomb,” he said, referring to the local slang term for a broken down car. “We want new vehicles, and if it’s in Tamuning within the village, the roads are safe to drive around. We can deliver anywhere in that area within 10 to 15 minutes.”

Menus are available at KFCguam.com, and the Tamuning location can also deliver menus right to your door. There are some menu items that can’t be delivered such as fries, sandwiches, desserts and very large catering orders. But original recipe and crispy chicken, red rice, cole slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy are ready to go.

“This is comfort food,” Cruz said. “Watch out, delivery people. We’re out there.”
