Pops of bold colors, earth-toned basics, deep reds, and retro styles are making an appearance in the island’s fashion outlets and the closets of local professionals. A-line dresses and skirts in fruity fall colors complement neutral-toned heels in looks from designer lines at JP Superstores. With a bright gold statement necklace, any gal can make a great impression in the workplace.

JP Superstore’s selection for fall business wear looks include geometric prints in daring colors for an upscale look straight from the fashion-forward closets of New York City,

while a retro dress with a bold collar from Red Valentino adds a flirty flair to a high-end professional look. The store carries the latest collections from designer labels perfect for every fashion forward professional including bohemian looks from Billabong, a brand favored by locals.

Kathy Mendiola, assistant manager at BCBGMaxazria, said the label’s fall line is full of darker colors and color blocked prints. Blacks, whites and neutrals are offset with a touch of merlot or cranberry. There is also a selection of faux leather pieces to make a more powerful statement.

“We have a lot of tailored pieces, things that are perfect for the office,” she said. Blazers and coats complement power skirts or A-line skirts.

Jocelyn Toves, manager at Papaya Clothing, said they’re also featuring darker colors and longer sleeves in their fall looks.

“We’re starting to see a lot of brown tones, burgundies, darker blues, browns and blacks,” Toves said.

Harlem pants that have been making a splash as dance wear are now being crafted with more conservative fabrics and colors, creating a unique office look paired with a jacket or a long-sleeved blouse, Toves said.

At JP Superstore, a similar style is also starting to make waves as business apparel: Huarache pants. They can be paired with a blouse for a chic, bohemian look.

Maroon is also popping up in business wear, street wear, surf styles and high end looks at JP Superstore. It’s expected that this color will be seen on major labels for womenswear and menswear pieces as the season continues to march forward into fall.

Update your closet with the latest looks for the season and make an impression on your co-workers, clients and classmates. Classic cuts and colors are always reliable for a professional look, but don’t be afraid to venture into high fashion trends with your outfit. Make a bold statement with the addition of a faux leather jacket, a bright gold necklace or a retro skirt.
